University Centre Peterborough is seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Sport to join our vibrant team and contribute to an exceptional learning experience for our students.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact, teaching and assessing across a range of Sport courses from Level 4 to 6. The teaching focus is strength and conditioning. You’ll play a crucial role in student retention and achievement, contributing to a supportive and engaging educational environment. This position also offers the chance for course co-ordination and potential involvement in internal verification/moderation.
Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering high-quality teaching that meets or exceeds College standards.
• Assessing student work and providing constructive, motivating feedback.
• Developing and reviewing innovative course materials and schemes of work.
• Providing academic tutorials and support to students.
• Actively participating in student recruitment and marketing activities.
• Championing safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
• Primarily based at the Peterborough Campus but some delivery maybe required at UCP Stamford

About You
You're a highly motivated and skilled educator with a genuine passion for Sport and a desire to see students succeed.
Essential qualifications and experience:
• Masters degree in Sport / related field or willingness to work towards
• Minimum of a degree in Sport
• Minimum Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy.
• Comprehensive and recent experience working in the Sport sector with expertise in strength and conditioning.
• Up-to-date knowledge of current initiatives impacting the vocational/subject area.
• Knowledge and experience of embedding English and maths into curriculum delivery.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Strong planning, organisation, and administrative skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
Ideally, you'll also have:
• A Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g., DTTLS, Diploma in Education and Training, Cert Ed or PGCE).
o Note: If you don't have this, we'll provide training to help you achieve it within three years of employment as an Unqualified Lecturer.
• Previous teaching experience, particularly within Further or Higher Education.
• Experience in course co-ordination or internal verification/moderation.
• Ability to drive the minibus or willingness to take the minibus test
