Role – Allocation Monitoring Officer (Homelessness)
Location – GCHSCP, 2 Green Wynd, Glasgow, G40 2TD
Contract Status – Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Allocation Monitoring Officer to join the Temporary Allocation Accommodation Team within Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP), Homelessness Services.

The Temporary Allocation Accommodation Team (TAAT) provides vital support to all Homeless Teams including Connect, Community Homeless Teams (CHTs), Prison, Hospital & Housing First. The support guarantees the needs of each team are well managed, thus providing a robust and co-ordinated service. The team’s focus is on providing a holistic support framework to all service users, while safeguarding those with complex needs. These services include making sure that both the correct level of care is maintained, ensuring temporary and emergency accommodation is allocated effectively and efficiently in accordance with the community’s assessment of need.

The main duties and responsibilities are montoring and managing of all referrals using various systems in relation to Accommodation, Judicial Reviews, Void Returns and Temporary Furnished Flats. Supporting the various departments across our service, the Allocation Monitoring Officer will work in a small team co-ordinating and prioritising the workload of this team. Working with a variety of agencies, making decisions on all aspects of accommodation/housing using sound judgement.

Duties will also include risk assessments, management of utilities issues, provide a point of contact for all Registered Social Landlords, management of various mailboxes, preparation of management information on the supply and demand of temporary accommodation and ensuring that allocations are made in fair and consistent manner.

Working knowledge of the legislation and guidance of homelessness is desirable as is awareness of the complex needs of service users and an appreciation of relevant legislation and Code of Guidance.

The successful applicant will have a flexible approach to service delivery and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with internal/external customers and other agencies.

These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
