Do you have a professional, positive, customer focused attitude? We have a great opportunity in the Engineering and Maintenance Team for someone with a passion for plumbing and mechanical maintenance who is looking to make a difference in the University, by helping to maintain its buildings to a world class standard.
You will specialise in mechanical maintenance, specialising in plumbing but with flexibility to support other members of our maintenance team being an advantage. You will also be required to carry out pre-programmed inspections of mechanical installations and any associated remedial works.
You will be a suitably qualified plumber with experience of mechanical maintenance, plumbing repairs & installations, i.e. C&G 6161-25 Level 3 Advanced Diploma. A technical knowledge of current plumbing best practice techniques is essential, as is the flexibility to work as part of a team or alone. You will be able to follow instruction but also use your own initiative as required.
The majority of work is of a physical nature and as such requires manual handling and the ability to carry tools and equipment across campus. The ability to ascend and descend ladders and to utilise access equipment when required with the dexterity to undertake a range of mechanical work tasks to ensure a good standard of works is also essential.
