Teaching Assistant
We at Courtney are looking for experienced and dynamic TA.
Courtney is a close-knit, caring but highly ambitious school. The school is at an exciting point in its journey. In September 2024, the school gained an Ofsted Rating of “good” in all areas reflecting the continued drive for high quality education for all of our children. The ideal Teaching Assistant should have:
• Good interpersonal skills with both adults and children.
• A good standard of general education, to include literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ2 in English and Maths.
• NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or other relevant qualification with some practical experience of working with children, or; a good understanding/previous experience of working with children in an educational context with evidence of relevant training in the appropriate age range or curriculum/learning area.
• Ability to use ICT effectively to support pupils’ learning.
• Working knowledge of national/foundation stage curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies.
• Must be willing to undertake further professional development.
• Have experience working as an Early Years, Key Stage 1 or 2 Class Teaching Assistant or SEN TA
• Be flexible and patient
• Be able to communicate effectively within a team
• Be compassionate and an awareness of attachment
• You will need to show a good understanding of children’s development and take a lead in organising tasks which enable personalised targets to be met.
