SRG are working with a well-established, family-run business specialising in waste management and environmental services. They are now looking for an experienced Site Chemist to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the compliance and classification of waste following the relevant regulatory guidelines.

This is a hands-on role within the waste industry, you will be checking and testing incoming loads of LPG, propane, CO₂, O₂, carbon monoxide among other toxic gases, processing hazardous waste streams, insuring segregation and storage of hazardous waste meets requirements, labelling waste and completing documents on all incoming and outgoing chemical materials / Waste streams. This would suit candidates with 2+ years' experience as a Site Chemist at a Hazardous waste company.

Role/Description

  • Carry out on-site chemical analyses, assess waste materials, and verify compliance with environmental standards.
  • Ensure all activities align with the latest environmental permit regulations.
  • Contribute to the setup and launch of innovative gas treatment systems.
  • Act as the lead contact for Transfrontier Shipment (TFS) processes, coordinating with global stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and the Environment Agency.
  • Provide technical input and support documentation and reporting across both operational divisions.
  • Assist with site compliance and health and safety requirements and their strict adherence


Requirements

  • A degree (BSc or higher) in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
  • 2+ years' recent experience in waste management, chemical processing, or environmental services.
  • Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Willingness to travel for overseas projects
  • A keen interest in learning about TFS regulations (full training provided).
