JOB DESCRIPTION
Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
Personal assistant is required for a 26 year old boy living in North West Cardiff (Creigiau).
He has a diagnosis of moderate learning disabilities and dyspraxia. He also has communication difficulties and finds it difficult to express himself.
He enjoys watching films, playing snooker, watching stand-up comedy, cooking and listening to rap and reggae music.
Ideally, he would like someone who has similar interests to support him out to activities he enjoys.
PURPOSE OF JOB
Support out in the community and accessing groups. Ideally one PA to ensure consistency and continuity.
HOURS OF WORK
7 hours per week, flexible working hours to be discussed.
RATE OF PAY
£14.10 an hour
TASKS INVOLVED
Support out in the community to groups that he is interested in.
Support with social activities that he enjoys such as watching films, playing snooker or darts and going to gigs.
Possibly trying new activities such as indoor climbing. Walking the dog and possibly joining a gym.
Support with food shopping.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Reliable
Friendly, confident and sociable
Caring
Trustworthy
Car driver with access to own car
Some previous experience in a similar role is desirable
Confident with a medium sized dog
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
