JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant




A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 49 year old man living in the Wenvoe area, I am a seeking a personal assistant to work one night a week, I am quadriplegic. This will require getting me out of bed, I do have a hoist which can primarily be used, but full training will be given to progress on to using a sliding board.

Personal care will be needed to help me get ready to start my day, and also to prepare some food for me.

There will be opportunity to have additional hours, when the other PAs are on annual leave.



PURPOSE OF JOB

To provide support and assistance one day a week




PLACE OF WORK

In my home.



HOURS OF WORK

1 sleep in 24 hour shift a week to be worked on a monday



RATE OF PAY

£90 sleep in rate

Meets NLW for any additional hours




TASKS INVOLVED

Getting me in and out of bed.
Providing personal care washing/ getting me dressed.
Preparing me some food.






TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED



Someone punctual and reliable.
A chatty and friendly person.
A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home.
someone with experience of care work preferred



ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
