Essential Requirement: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent or a commitment from you to achieve the qualification within two years of appointment.
Hours: Early Shift 7am 2.30pm, Late Shift 2.30pm 10pm

The Role
Up to £33,366 depending on experience + 7%
An opportunity has become available to join a committed and established team within children services supporting children with additional needs.
The teams provide essential and valuable care to children and young people aged 8 to 18 years who may present with a range of complex needs, ensuring each child always feels safe and secure in their environment.
We have two home’s, Avondale and Trackside they are purpose-built bungalows that provide a short break care service to disabled young people. You will be required to work within the residential service offering high quality care to young people who need to spend some time away from home.
The role requires candidates to work a flexible rota, including weekend, bank holiday and evening work and form part of a committed team. Part of the role’s responsibility is to support children with a number of complex needs including autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities, aged between 8 18 years. These children need high levels of support to meet their personal care, physical and medical care needs, also staff will take part in activities both in and out of the home.
We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, energetic, creative and able to make a commitment to supporting young disabled people to stay safe, keep healthy, enjoy and achieve and take part in decisions which affect their lives whilst in our care.
Previous experience of working with young people and an understanding of the impact of disability are essential.
About You
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, a ‘can do’ approach and be committed to improving outcomes for young people.
The successful candidate will work in partnership with young people, their families and as part of a multi-agency team to support young people to make progress, to achieve their full potential.
You will have experience of working with young people who present with the needs mentioned above. Understanding the needs children with a disability and their families is also essential.
The post requires a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent or a commitment from you to achieve the qualification within two years of appointment.
