Summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, organised, and efficient Learning Disability Nurse, as Head of Nursing based within the Community provision with in Learning disability and Autism Directorate. The post holder will job share with the current Community Head of Nursing and work in conjunction with the Associate Director of Nursing, AHP Lead and Inpatient Head of Nursing.
Through highly visible leadership the post-holder will undertake a range of duties and responsibilities that support staff to deliver safe and high-quality evidence-based practice across the directorate. This hands on role will provide specialist Learning Disability nursing advice and drive forward the strategic vision for our community teams.
The post holder will provide professional leadership/support to senior clinicians and managers within the Trust to ensure robust arrangements are in place to support and. promote clinical practice developments, this will be achieved through
• driving high standards of practice and challenging professional practice where . it does not meet the required standards
•ensuring a supportive learning environment for all staff and learners
•enhancing patient and carer experience by ensuring attitudes of respect and values are integral to patient and carer interactions

Main duties of the role

Adopting co-production approach to changes and improvements within the organisation. The post holder will be expected to provide support, guidance and represent the broad views of nurses within the services and will need to achieve a level of visibility that enables these goals to be met.
The post holder will be expected to interpret national guidance in relation to nursing and advise on the implementation within the modernising and changing environment of those services provided by the Directorate. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the development of and lead on the implementation of key aspects and the annual work plan of the nursing strategy.
The post holder will work as a full member of the Trust's Leadership Team. They will support the development of and lead the Nurse Advisory Group/Lead Professionals Group and participate in practice Safety and Quality forums and nursing forums across the Trust, as appropriate.
The post holder will also have an important role in ensuring consistent high standards of nursing and supporting the service throughout any inspection process.
The post holder will be expected to be a proactive member of the Directorate's Senior Management Team and to engage in and support decision making on behalf of the Directorate across services, disciplines and professions as appropriate.
