Crynodeb

The post holder will be part of the multidisciplinary team supporting clients and staff involved in the delivery of the screening pathways, and will be actively involved in the process to monitor the effectiveness of the pathways and provide clinical care and counselling where appropriate. The post holder will be responsible for the development of appropriate screening policies, guidelines and procedures and service redesign through local audit of policies and practice, and facilitate their implementation based on national guidance. The post holder will also be responsible for the routine monitoring of performance data against national standards provided by Liverpool Womens NHS Foundation Trust (LWH) to support improvements in quality and changes in the programme when required. Performances of local programmes are monitored in a variety of ways such as audits, statistics, regional meetings, Quality Assurance (QA) visits and self assessments and presence in clinical areas. The post holder will provide annual and quarterly reports as agreed by the Head of Midwifery both at local request and national request. The post holder will have highly developed specialist knowledge and experience in the field of antenatal and newborn screening to report and resolve quality and performance problems. Education and training will be a key aspect of the role to ensure staff are competent and confident in the delivery and the management of the existing and new screening pathways. The post holder will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, other agencies both internal and external and user representatives.
