We are looking for a nurturing and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support learning in a Reception class. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early childhood education and supporting young children as they take their first steps into school life. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Reception Year Teaching Assistant:
Support the class teacher in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum through play-based and structured learning.
Work with individuals and small groups to encourage development in communication, literacy, numeracy, and personal, social and emotional skills.
Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment, both indoors and outdoors.
Contribute to observations, assessments and the planning of next steps in learning.
Assist with setting up and maintaining learning areas, resources and displays.
Provide personal care where necessary and support children with additional needs.
Ideal Reception Year Teaching Assistant:
Have experience working in an EYFS or Reception setting.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
Be kind, patient and responsive to the needs of young children as a Reception Year Teaching Assistant.
Communicate well with both children and adults and work effectively as part of a team.
Hold a relevant Level 2 or 3 Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification (or be working towards one).
