We are seeking a motivated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to support learning in a mixed Year 1/2 class. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact during the crucial early stages of children’s education. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Year 1/2 Teaching Assistant:
Support pupils across Year 1 and Year 2, both in whole-class settings and in small intervention groups.
Assist with the delivery of phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities.
Work closely with the class teacher to adapt resources and manage the learning environment.
Provide targeted support for pupils who may need additional help with learning or behaviour.
Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where all children feel valued and supported.
Ideal Year 1/2 Teaching Assistant:
Have experience working with KS1 pupils, particularly in Year 1 or 2.
Demonstrate a good understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics (e.g. Letters and Sounds or Little Wandle).
Be kind, reliable, and enthusiastic with a genuine passion for helping children thrive.
Work effectively as part of a team and use their initiative when needed as a Year 1/2 Teaching Assistant.
Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) or have strong practical experience.
