We are seeking a motivated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to support learning in a mixed Year 1/2 class. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact during the crucial early stages of children’s education. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 1/2 Teaching Assistant:

  • Support pupils across Year 1 and Year 2, both in whole-class settings and in small intervention groups.

  • Assist with the delivery of phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities.

  • Work closely with the class teacher to adapt resources and manage the learning environment.

  • Provide targeted support for pupils who may need additional help with learning or behaviour.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where all children feel valued and supported.

Ideal Year 1/2 Teaching Assistant:

  • Have experience working with KS1 pupils, particularly in Year 1 or 2.

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics (e.g. Letters and Sounds or Little Wandle).

  • Be kind, reliable, and enthusiastic with a genuine passion for helping children thrive.

  • Work effectively as part of a team and use their initiative when needed as a Year 1/2 Teaching Assistant.

  • Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) or have strong practical experience.
