As part of our ambitious growth plans, we are seeking a strategic and results-driven **Business Development Manager** to lead revenue growth, expand our market presence, and drive long-term profitability.
Role Purpose:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities across both domiciliary care contracts and healthcare recruitment clients. You will play a key role in developing partnerships, increasing client acquisition, and implementing strategies that improve margins, grow the client base, and ensure sustainable business expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute a growth strategy aligned with the company’s objectives for revenue, market share, and profitability.
* Identify, target, and win new domiciliary care contracts from local authorities, NHS trusts, private clients, and CCGs.
* Build a pipeline of new recruitment clients including care homes, supported living providers, hospitals, and community care organisations.
* Develop strong relationships with commissioners, decision-makers, and procurement leads within health and social care sectors.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and commissioning opportunities to position the company advantageously.
* Lead tender submissions and support the development of winning bids and proposals.
* Work closely with operations and compliance teams to ensure seamless onboarding of new clients and contracts.
* Collaborate with marketing to design and implement targeted campaigns that generate qualified leads.
* Track key performance indicators (KPIs), prepare growth forecasts, and report on business development performance.
* Negotiate rates and contract terms to optimise profitability while maintaining service quality and compliance.
* Represent the company at networking events, conferences, and industry forums to build visibility and reputation.
Requirements:
Essential:
* Proven track record in a business development or sales role within domiciliary care, healthcare staffing, or social care recruitment.
* Deep understanding of the health and social care landscape, including commissioning structures and procurement routes.
* Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating contracts and increasing revenue/profit margins.
* Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
Desirable:
* Experience in successful tendering for domiciliary care or NHS framework contracts.
* Knowledge of CQC standards, compliance, and staffing regulation in the care sector.
