What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Headteacher to join and lead our warm, open, ambitious school in January 2026.
St Stephen’s is a wonderful, one form entry, school in the heart of Lewisham and part of the Southwark Diocesan Multi-Academy Trust. It is known for its strong ethos based on Christian values that are central to all we do.

We are looking for candidates that:
• Exemplify a vibrant and engaged Christian faith that shapes and inspires the school's ethos, fostering a community of worship and shared values
• Can design and implement engaging learning experiences for children that reflect exceptional and innovative teaching practices, ensuring that every lesson is impactful and aligned with educational goals
• Develop and execute a clear, actionable vision for the school's future, ensuring that strategic plans are realistic, sustainable, and focused on long-term success
• Foster a culture of trust and accountability, empowering staff to work independently towards well-defined and measurable objectives, while providing the necessary support to achieve these goals
• Create and facilitate opportunities for innovative practices that drive the school's success and enhance pupil outcomes
• Cultivate strong relationships within the wider school community and collaborate effectively with stakeholders and partners, ensuring that all voices are heard and valued in the pursuit of common objectives
• Be able and ready to work in collaboration with other schools within the Multi-Academy Trust.
