Would you like to be part of an expanding SEND provision for students with Additional Educational Needs? We are looking for Learning Support Assistants to work 27.5 Hours per week, during term time, plus 3 INSET days, Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:00 with an hours break (unpaid)Grade 14 - (Points 4-6), Salary £24,404 - £25,183 FTE; Actual starting salary £15,372There has never been a better time to join the fantastic, growing SEN team here at Nailsea School as we encourage everyone to exceed their own expectations and to be the very best they can be. We are offering an exciting new opportunity and are looking to appoint a multiple number of enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistants to join our SEND team. We are looking for Learning Support Assistants to work with pupils either within a Year 7 class providing support to a range of pupils within the same class, or individually with 1:1 pupils requiring a higher level of support.This role is initially fixed term up to 17th July 2026. There may be opportunities for the role to be extended for the following academic year depending on funding.
We are looking for candidates who have:
Experience of working with children with a range of SEND
An understanding of the national curriculum framework and know how to adapt activities to suit the needs of the learner
A good understanding of how to modify and adapt the school day to meet the needs of an individual child
An ability to be flexible, positive and good humoured; proactively seeking creative ways of meeting children’s needs
Good levels of written and spoken English
Excellent interpersonal skills The successful candidate will be required to:Either provide in class support to KS3 classes, or support an individual pupil with 1:1 SEN supportSupport teachers to differentiate class work where requiredGive clear and effective support to secure pupil progress whilst assessing the developmentProgress the attainment of pupils
Provide assessment feedback to teachers
Use IT systems to record student progress and contribute to reviewing of student educational healthcare plans where appropriateWhat we can offer:
