We have reshaped our SEN department, and are looking to fill a newly created role of SEN Intervention LSA - does this sound like something you could thrive in doing? We are looking for Learning Support Assistants to work 27.5 Hours per week, during term time, plus 3 INSET days, Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:00 with an hours break (unpaid)
Grade 13 - (Points 6-11), Salary £25,183 - £27,269 FTE; Actual starting salary £15,863Working under the direction of an SEN Team Leader, the SEN Intervention LSAs will work with identified students based on their individual needs, as part of a graduated response in the areas of Cognition & Learning, Communication & Interaction or Sensory & Physical. Bespoke interventions will have the aim of reducing barriers to learning in one of these specific areas to improve student's ability to learn and progress.It's a great time to join our SEN team. We are looking for candidates who have:Solid school experience of working with children with a range of SEND, particularly in the areas of intervention statedExperience of working with individual students, and small groups for intervention and/or mentoringAn ability to motivate students, and build positive relationships with the individuals and their families/agencies A good understanding of the national curriculum framework and know how to adapt activities to suit the needs of the learner
A good understanding of how to modify and adapt the school day to meet the needs of an individual child
An ability to be flexible, positive and good humoured; proactively seeking creative ways of meeting children’s needs
Good levels of written and spoken English
Excellent interpersonal skills
The successful candidate will be required to:
To assist in the delivery of individual or small group interventions, both inside and outside of the classroomGive clear and effective support to secure pupil progress whilst assessing the developmentTo support in the monitoring the impact of interventions, by completing pre and post intervention assessments and record using school systemsTo support in the EHCP annual review process as well as the writing of individual student plansTo be involved in home/school contact under the supervision of the SEN Team Leader, SENCo and Deputy SENCoSupport teachers to differentiate class work where requiredWhat we can offer:Professional induction, training and continued professional development opportunities.
