Hi. My son and I are really looking forward to meeting you.
You can make a really big difference to his life, taking him out on his favourite activities.
He's such a character with the biggest smile and the most infectious laugh to go with his slapstick sense of humour.
Of course, there will be days when he chooses to stay at home, but there's plenty of things to do here - he has a hydrotherapy pool, sensory garden and games room outside plus a full-sized arcade grabber and fruit machine indoors. He needs help keeping his rooms clean and does love to vacuum!
He has a learning disability, impaired speech and vision, epilepsy and cerebral palsy to deal with and uses a wheelchair at all times.
So there will be an element of hoisting to do and transportation in his Motability WAV for which you have to be 25 or older for the insurance.
There's plenty to learn, but your experience will help and you won't be left on your own as his stepfather is his other PA and I can help as well. We'll work as a team.
Once you have got into the swing of things, I will need you to be able to work the occasional night. The hours, days and nights are flexible and we can chat about that when we meet.
We are looking for someone enthusiastic, kind and chatty because these are all qualities my son has himself and responds to in people he likes. Please also be an animal lover as we live with a few.
