Crynodeb
My son is 34 years old and loving his life at home in Three Oaks with me, his mum and his stepdad who has been his PA for many years. He has the most contagious smile and laugh, despite being in a wheelchair and having to cope with (mainly) epilepsy, cerebral palsy and impaired speech and vision.
He is very kind and caring, although if you trip up, his slapstick sense of humour will leave him laughing his head off!
When he feels well enough, he needs his PA to take him out in his Motability WAV to his favourite places and maybe suggest a few new ones. Motability says you'll need to be over 25 to drive his WAV for insurance purposes.
Sometimes, he prefers to stay at home where there are plenty of activities to choose from. He is very musical and loves having lots going on.
After plenty of help from us getting to know him, all his needs and risk assessment, his PA may be asked to do a night or two to give me a break from the monitor.
We can be flexible with the 29 hours/week funding to suit those with existing clients.
