We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic Careers and Employability Manager to provide exceptional career guidance and ensure access to high-quality career-related information, advice and support to enable constant improvement of their skills, knowledge and understanding for career planning and management across full range of student ability and aspirations, ensuring the needs of all students are catered for.
About the role
You will provide outstanding careers guidance and information on a wide breadth of career possibilities, providing independent, impartial and inspirational advice. Ensuring the College meets the eight Gatsby benchmarks for good career advice, you will also develop and deliver careers workshop sessions for students and offer aftercare support and guidance following A-Level results.
Key activities include:
Leading the Careers Team
Establishing and strengthening partnerships with industry professionals, employers, and work-related learning organisations, including the development of strategic partnerships with employers to provide regular work placement and internship opportunities
Leading on the schedule of employability events and activities, including the annual careers fair and external trips for students to visit workplaces
Overseeing the development, planning and delivery of student interventions such as one to ones or group workshops;
Working with key colleagues to oversee the smooth running of the annual UCAS process, supporting students with their application to higher education.
About you
With an enthusiastic and self-motivated approach, you will demonstrate experience of working with young adults, providing bespoke individual careers support to students. With excellent administrative and IT skills you will be flexible and adaptable to a dynamic work environment. With strong communication and networking skills, you will demonstrate empathy, active listening and problem-solving abilities. Handling sensitive situations with professionalism, you will be culturally sensitive and foster an inclusive environment. This is a busy, hands-on, varied role, so we want someone with lots of drive and initiative. You’ll also be:

A level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance is essential, as is previous experience of working within a busy careers department ideally in Further Education.
As part of this role you will visit schools, employers and other events across the region, talking to prospective students and promoting the college at various events. As such a driving licence and own means of transportation is essential for this role.
