Job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health & Safety Manager to oversee and enhance our health and safety protocols at our Longstanding client in Coventry, working within the manufacturing Aerospace and Automotive industry. This position is PERMANENT from day 1.

Duties

  • Using various strategies and tools to provide effective solutions to HSE related concerns.
  • Manage and maintain all associated improvements, requirements, corrective actions, calibration and training records.
  • Work closely with production and design teams to identify potential areas of risk.
  • Implement proactive initiatives.
  • Working closely with suppliers and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure all personnel have up-to-date training records and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) where necessary, are readily available.
  • Review and update training materials and SOPs regularly to reflect the latest industry standards.
  • Maintain an organized and accessible record-keeping system.
  • Carrying out internal audits.
  • Prepare for external audits by reviewing records, reports, and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Assist in documenting audit findings and corrective actions as required.
  • Support the CE marking process for applicable products by ensuring products meet EU safety, health, and environmental requirements.
  • Compile technical files and maintain records necessary for CE certification. (Training and software will be provided)
  • Lead initiatives for continuous process improvement across the site, identifying areas for enhancing efficiency and waste reduction.
  • Prepare for and support external audits and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
  • Manage the 14001 and any other environmental management that is required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a health and safety management role
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 14001 & NEBOSH standards.
  • Experience in problem-solving
  • Proficient in MS Office and other relevant software tools
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • DBS check required.
