Are you a visionary leader with a passion for driving performance excellence across complex healthcare systems? Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional individual to lead our Delivery Unit as Director of Performance and Planning (fixed term, maternity leave cover).
This is a pivotal role at the heart of one of the UK’s largest and most ambitious NHS Trusts. Reporting to the Chief Delivery Officer, you will lead the development and delivery of MFT’s performance and planning agenda—ensuring we meet and exceed national standards while delivering outstanding care to our diverse communities.
You will be responsible for shaping and implementing the Trust’s Delivery Oversight Framework, leading operational planning, and directly overseeing our cancer and urgent care coordination teams. Your leadership will directly influence how we manage capacity, reduce waiting times, and improve patient access across all MFT sites.
We are looking for a strategic thinker with a proven track record of senior leadership in the NHS, deep expertise in performance improvement, and the ability to inspire and engage clinical and operational teams. You will bring analytical rigour, political acumen, and a collaborative approach to a role that is both challenging and deeply rewarding.
