The post holder will assist in the efficient and effective management of bed resources within the Trust. The provision of an effective service encompassing all Directorates is essential to successful patient flow across the Trust.
The main objective of the role is to facilitate placement of emergency and urgent admission requests, whilst recognising the importance of elective work. The role will also require organisation of all internal transfers and repatriation to and from other Trusts.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the bed management team at North Manchester General hospital. The area of Patient Flow has had significant development and investment to support the challenge of the post pandemic recovery. The Directorate of Patient flow is currently being established and embedded and as such there is now a vacancy in the position of Bed Manager.
If successful you will have a key operational role and will provide specialist knowledge and skills to oversee elective and non-elective patient flow across the Hospital. To do this you will communicate effectively to the wider MDT team and act as a role model, demonstrating a professional and proactive approach with colleagues and the Trust, to support the delivery of high standards of care, ensuring an environment that is conducive to the patient’s well-being. You will support the development and improvement of services and continue to strive to provide the very best care and experience to all patients. This position will be at a time of change both post pandemic and of service redesign.
You will need significant band 5 experience. Experience in a patient flow role is an advantage but not essential if you have a willingness and ability to learn at pace. you will be supported by the senior bed manger and senior nurses for patient flow.
