Location: LE8, Leicestershire (Blaby)
Pay: £90-£105 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: September 2025 (Trial Days/Interviews Taking Place ASAP)
Contract Type: Long-term with potential to go permanent

Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
Do you have the resilience to work in an environment where challenging behaviour is part of everyday learning?

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work in a forward-thinking, Ofsted-rated 'Good' school in Blaby Leicestershire that caters to pupils aged 4-16 with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs. This full-time Teaching Assistant role is to start in September 2025, with trial days and interviews happening as soon as possible (ASAP).

What the Role Involves:
- Supporting students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Managing challenging behaviours using a calm, consistent, and positive approach
- Helping pupils regulate emotions, build resilience, and stay engaged in lessons
- Working closely with teaching staff to follow personalised learning and behaviour plans
- Creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where pupils feel supported
- Encouraging independence and developing social and emotional life skills

We're Looking For:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant with students with SEN, SEND or SEMH is highly desirable
- Previous experience in relevant roles/settings is desirable eg. sports coach, youth worker, mentoring, support worker, probation officer etc.
- Confidence and resilience to manage emotional and behavioural challenges
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build consistent, trusting relationships
- A genuine interest in helping vulnerable children reach their potential
