Location: Derbyshire (DE74)
Daily Rate: £90 - £105 per day
Days: Monday - Friday, Term Time Only
Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm
Start Date: ASAP or September 2025 (interviews and trial days taking place now)
Contract Type: Long-term to permanent
We are supporting a specialist school for pupils aged 5-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school offers a calm, therapeutic setting where students are supported through a combination of personalised learning, structured routines and a focus on emotional wellbeing. With small class sizes, specialist facilities including a sensory room and outdoor learning zones, the school is committed to helping every young person build confidence, self-regulation and life skills.
Job Purpose
To work closely with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs - either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups - in line with their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Key Responsibilities
- Take on key-worker responsibilities for a small group of pupils, developing strong, trusting relationships and consistent routines.
- Help plan, implement, and review individual Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs), tailored to the needs of specific pupils.
- Support pupils to build confidence and independence.
- Deliver structured interventions focused on behaviour regulation, emotional literacy, and learning engagement.
- Monitor pupils' engagement and behaviour throughout the day.
- Understand and apply the content of each pupil's EHCP in day-to-day interactions.
Candidate Requirements:
- A calm, consistent and empathetic approach to behaviour and learning support
- Previous experience in any industry that has involved supporting children or young people with SEN, SEMH or challenging behaviours.
