The children, staff, and governors of Pentyrch Primary School wish to appoint a proactive, enthusiastic Teaching Assistants from September 2025.
The successful candidates will need to:
• contribute to the ethos and values of our school;
• have high expectations of children’s achievement;
• have the ability to inspire and challenge children through an innovative and creative approach to learning in the classroom and outdoor learning environment;
• demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to nurture relationships with staff, pupils and parents;
• have commitment, be highly motivated and be able to contribute to our dedicated and enthusiastic team;
• be adaptable, resourceful, and innovative;
Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
This salary is subject to the Living Wage supplement which brings pay rates up to £12 per hour (scp 2 - 4). This supplement will be reviewed in January 2024 and thereafter annually in April. Cardiff Council reserves the right to make any changes to, or removal of, the Living Wage supplement.
Internal candidates who wish to apply for the temporary position on a secondment basis must obtain approval prior to application using Form SEC1 (4.C.081). Requests may only be approved by the relevant Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Headteacher / Governing Body.
These appointments will be subject to suitably qualified individuals. Individuals should ensure that they meet all of the essential requirements detailed in the person specification and note the desirable attributes applicable to the post for which they are applying.
