Hours: 37.5 - including potential weekend and evening shifts

The role: As a Residential Worker, you will support children and young people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or complex needs in a care home setting. You’ll help them achieve positive outcomes through emotional, physical and developmental support in line with their individual care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high standards of care in line with regulatory and organisational guidelines
Support children in daily routines and activities, both in the home and community
Promote their independence, wellbeing and personal development
Administer medication and handle personal care where required
Maintain accurate records, contribute to care plans and risk assessments
Promote positive behaviour and respond to challenging situations with therapeutic approaches
Work flexibly including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins as per rota
Liaise with families, professionals, and colleagues to ensure cohesive care
What the client is looking for:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within 2 years)
Experience working with children or young people with disabilities or complex needs
Good understanding of safeguarding and child development
Strong team player with excellent communication skills
Ability to build trusted relationships with children and families
Flexible, resilient, and able to work under pressure
Basic use of MS Office Systems
Excellent interpersonal skills
Desirable:
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Familiarity with trauma-informed care, autism, or behavioural support frameworks
