Band:8C, £74,290 - £85,601 Per annum, pro rata


Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working


The maternity service provides acute midwifery and obstetric services for Milton Keynes providing Midwifery led care on it labour ward setting. The service also provides community midwifery services (antenatal, postnatal and homebirth) across the geographical reach of Milton Keynes with the majority of care being delivered from community Hubs and General Practitioners. Birth-place choices include home birth, Midwifery led care on the labour ward, with two rooms that support water birth in an acute labour ward environment.

We are part of the new hospital programme and are working with the national team to build a Women’s and Children unit which will provide midwifery, obstetric and neonatal care in a purpose build facility.

Strong leadership to support the development of the midwifery team.

Strategic oversight of new group model framework.

Oversight and leadership of all aspects of the maternity department.

Strong networking with local and regional Trusts

Line responsibility for the matrons
