Your Role as a SEN Teaching Assistant
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to ensure every child with SEND receives the support they need. You will be based in the classroom and work with pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Delivering tailored support to children with SEND across the curriculum
• Helping to adapt teaching materials and approaches to meet individual needs
• Encouraging emotional wellbeing, independence, and classroom participation
• Supporting behaviour management and contributing to a calm, inclusive environment
• Monitoring progress and sharing feedback to support learning strategies

• A graduate (2:1 or higher preferred) with a serious interest in SEND
• Someone committed to a full academic year as a SEN Teaching Assistant
