Summary

Key responsibilities:

To Undertake SHEA inspections internal assurance, providing reports and feedback to Units and Depts as required.
Providing specialist advice and assistance to the Station Commandant as the Head of Establishment (HOE) and Duty Holder.
Act as SHEA focal point for all AACen Unit Safety Advisors (USA’s), personnel and permanent contractors.
Collation and maintenance of SHEA related accident/incident/near-miss reports, producing analysis where required.
Liaison with the Army Incident Notification Cell (AINC) and Army Safety Centre (ASCen) and Land Warfare Centre (LWC) where necessary.
Advising on specific SHEA training requirements including Station Induction Brief (quarterly).
Provision of advice to Department Heads and Line Managers on SHEA self-audit arrangements.
Promote awareness amongst Station personnel and the local community of positive Environmental Protection (EP) achievements and of the Station’s commitment to environmentally responsible behaviour.
Promote fire safety and liaise with the HOE, Appointed Person Fire (Station Security Officer (SSO), Fire station Manager and Unit Fire Safety Fire Managers.
Manage the central collation of Fire Risk Assessments records and recording completion of fire evacuation practices.
To act as a point of contact for enquiries by external agencies such as the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Environment Agency and Local Authority.
Line Manager for Executive Officer SHE
Any other duties commensurate with grade and experience as directed by Line Manager.
