Are you an experienced and ambitious engineer looking for a pivotal role within a dynamic structural engineering consultancy?
If you are, this could be the job for you. The company is seeking a highly motivated Associate Engineer to join their growing team in Manchester.
This is a permanent, management-level position where you'll play a crucial role in overseeing team performance, driving project delivery, and contributing to the growth of the business.
As the Associate Engineer you'll report directly to the Directors and be responsible for the successful execution of numerous projects.
SALARY: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum
BENEFITS: 25 Days Annual Leave plus 8 Days Public Holidays, Company Private Medical, Nest Company Pension, Discretionary Annual Bonus in December
LOCATION: Manchester, Greater Manchester, North West England (M4) - 100% Office Based
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: Flexi Time, 8 Hours per Day between 7:30am – 6:30pm
PLEASE NOTE: Full driving licence and own vehicle will be required for site visits
JOB OVERVIEW
As an Associate Engineer you'll be at the heart of the company’s operations, taking on a broad range of responsibilities including:
• Leading and managing a team of structural engineering staff, both nationally and internationally
• Acting as a key representative for the company at project meetings, site visits, and industry events
• Overseeing and contributing to the day-to-day operations of the company
• Communicating confidently and effectively with clients, architects, and contractors, building and maintaining strong relationships
• Managing workloads for yourself and your team to ensure projects are delivered within tight timescales and budget, while providing expert advice and guidance
• Utilising your coaching and communication skills to foster strong working relationships with all stakeholders, including leading design meetings
• Developing and expanding the client base in the Manchester area and beyond, targeting a diverse range of sectors and project sizes
• Producing accurate fee quotes for enquiries, as agreed with the Managing Director
• Project managing and completing structural design and detailing as required for various projects
• Performing quality assurance tasks, including reviewing calculations, drawings, and reports before issue
• Assisting the Managing Director with interviewing, recruiting, and managing new staff as needed
