The Opportunity:

We have an exciting role which is responsible for overseeing the implementation and delivery of contracts relating to property services.

You would be working closely with multiple teams and supporting the Property Managers with the management of suppliers, stakeholders and contractors. If you're someone who enjoys building strong partnerships and keeping things running smoothly, we’d love to hear from you!

The role is Fixed term upto 12 months, and we would consider a secondment for the right candidate.



Key Responsibilities:

The role is quite varied due to the complexity and scope of the council’s portfolio. The main duties and responsibilities include;

Contract & Performance Management

Lead the commercial and performance management of compliance and responsive maintenance contractors.
Ensure robust contract process management, including risk and governance oversight.
Maintain supplier relationships and ensure contractual compliance throughout the contract lifecycle.
Team Leadership & Support

Manage and support two Contract Officers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
Provide expert advice, guidance, and training to colleagues across the Property Service section.
Promote best practices to ensure value for money in repairs and maintenance delivery.
Strategic & Operational Development

Contribute to the development and implementation of future strategies and policies.
Support operational improvements and reporting processes to enhance service delivery.
Play a key role in shaping the future of property services across the council.


What you can bring:

The key qualities we are looking for are;

Attention to detail in managing contract documentation, performance data, and compliance procedures.
Extensive knowledge and experience with construction contracts.
Strong contractor management skills, including performance monitoring and supply chain coordination.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities for interpreting complex data and assessing risks.
The ideal candidate will have worked within a building management system or asset management system.
