EYFS Teaching Assistant
Location: Selly Oak, Birmingham (B29)
Pay: £455-£480 per week

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Are you a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in Early Years? We're looking for a dedicated EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to support the new intake of children with special educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive school based in Selly Oak, Birmingham.
About the Role
This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September, ideal for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant with experience in Early Years or Key Stage 1. You'll be providing tailored support to pupils with complex needs, including those who are non-verbal and require additional communication support using PECS, Makaton, or similar methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to children in EYFS with SEN.
* Use communication techniques such as PECS and Makaton to support non-verbal pupils..
* Assist with the transition and settling in of new children in the setting
* Adapt activities and resources to suit individual needs..
* Work closely with class teachers and SENCo to support EHCP outcomes.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working with SEN children, including complex needs and non-verbal pupils.
* Experience across EYFS and/or KS1 settings.
* Proficiency with PECS, Makaton, or other communication tools.
* Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3 or equivalent).
* Empathetic, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young learners.
