Hours: 4 hours per week. We can be flexible on days and timings. Our initial thoughts are either Tuesday, Thursday, Friday evenings or anytime Saturday or Sunday.
LOCATION: Woolston.
RATE OF PAY: £12.60
Ideal candidate:
· Experience of autism, ADHD, mild learning difficulties and anxiety
· Kind, caring and compassionate
· Reliable
· Good communicator
· Excellent role model, practising and promoting positive thinking
· Patient towards hidden disabilities
· Proactive in finding new opportunities to encourage social interaction and new interests
· Adaptable and able to remain calm in situations
· Someone with a friendly rapport or a dynamic individual
· Flexibility in working hours
Essential:
· Car driver with business insurance
· Non-smoker preferred
· Required to complete Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
About the role:
I am seeking a Personal Assistant (PA) to provide 1:1 support to my 19 year old daughter who is on the autistic spectrum alongside other associated conditions. She is a delightful young lady with a great sense of humour who enjoys the idea of getting out and about, loves completing jigsaws, puzzles and word searches. Your role will be to provide assistance helping her to build essential communication skills, encouraging social interaction and develop confidence and independence as a young adult. This will mainly be to take my daughter out to places like the cinema, shopping or the zoo, to social activities locally or to play games, cook etc. in our house. She is mobile and able to take care of her own personal hygiene. She wishes to be more independent in social situations, make friends and to access activities/visit places more confidently outside of home.
She needs someone who is a positive mentor and can offer guidance and support but also make it fun. The right person will be able to build a secure connection, see how she masks to be around others and show understanding. Being a calming friend and advocate as well as a role model, to actively encourage a positive mindset and develop her self-esteem.
