Crynodeb
The Ministry of Justice supports a range of issues that have a profound impact on people’s lives. We are at the heart of the justice system, and our priority work ranges from prison reform to modern justice and support for victims.
We are looking to appoint an ambitious and creative Senior Digital Content Manager to help us deliver daily digital content that truly makes a difference across our portfolios: Probation, Sentencing, Prisons, Courts and Justice. You might know our team’s work from the Victims Code campaign or perhaps you’ve seen our work on other hugely important subjects such as cutting reoffending, intimate image abuse, victims’ rights, swifter access to justice or reforming sentencing.

So what does the job entail? You will take a leading role in managing, prioritising and publishing digital content across our social media channels, alongside building partnerships with cross government colleagues, stakeholders and digital influencers to help us effectively reach target audiences. Our work has a strong audience focus and you will be at the forefront of finding creative ways to engage with different groups with an interest in our work. Exceptional creativity, attention to detail, collaboration and a passion for the work we do is key. As is the ability to manage several priorities under pressure and to tight deadlines.
We are a happy unit and vacancies in this team are rare. We pride ourselves on having a great team culture and a clear focus on innovation, storytelling and making a difference in people’s lives. We maintain a “no-blame culture” where it is recognised that occasional mistakes and missteps are worthwhile costs of ambition and innovation. We facilitate a space that welcomes creative challenge and big ideas and ensure everyone is supported and empowered to do their very best work.
You will play an important role in the digital communications community across government and in upskilling colleagues and senior leaders in digital best practice to maintain our status as a centre for excellence.
We encourage applications from people from all backgrounds and aim to build a workforce that is more representative of the UK’s diverse communities and the wider society that we serve. We pride ourselves on being an employer of choice. We champion diversity, inclusion and wellbeing and aim to create a workplace where everyone feels valued and a sense of belonging. • Put insight and evaluation at the heart of all your work – from ideation to evaluation – to ensure we are measuring impact and reach our intended audiences.
• Produce, commission, oversee and publish high-quality, audience-focused digital content for key MoJ announcements and low/no cost campaigns - making use of creative content, partnerships and existing/emerging digital channels.
• Identify, prioritise and bring to life creative and strategic opportunities to reach intended audiences, using MoJ channels, and engage new audiences through third-party channels.
• Attend shoots across England and Wales and take on occasional out-of-hours work, in agreement with your line manager.
Earned Media
• Collaborate with External Affairs, Campaigns, Digital Marketing teams, and Ministers to identify and leverage earned media opportunities throughout the year, aligning with key objectives and strategic priorities.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with other government departments, digital partners, influencers and agencies to enhance the reach of our key messages online through earned media, supporting MoJ’s communication objectives.
Developing People
• Confidently upskill others in the use of digital communications to support the department’s objectives, including senior leaders, ministers and colleagues.

• Ability to work confidently with a range of colleagues, external partners and ministers, and to influence and prioritise direction of work.
• Knowledge of the influencer landscape and experience of effectively leveraging no-cost partnerships to reach key audiences with priority messaging.
