About the Role
Long Term Futures is currently working in collaboration with a pupil referral unit (PRU) in Leicester. We are seeking a resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join the setting on a full-time basis from September 2025. This role involves supporting students aged 5 to 11 years old who have been referred to the setting due to being unable to access mainstream learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide behaviour management and de-escalation support for students who have
- Work closely with students displaying challenging behaviours
- Implement effective behaviour strategies to promote positive engagement and self-regulation
- Build trusting relationships with students to support their emotional and behavioural needs
- Collaborate with staff to ensure consistency in behaviour expectations and interventions
What We're Looking For:
- Prior experience in a similar or relevant role - education, youth work, mentoring, experience with challenging behaviours
- Resilient and confident in supporting students with behavioural challenges in a calm, consistent manner
- Understanding of the needs of vulnerable students, including those with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties
- A patient, adaptable, and team-oriented attitude
- Willingness to learn and develop within the role
