Support Managers (SM) are pivotal to the efficient and effective operating of Maritime Reserve Units and its function to deliver trained Reservists as elements of Operational Capability at Readiness as required by Navy Command. Support Managers lead and manage whole force teams for a specified cluster of units, are owned by CMR and form part of the Operational Delivery Profession. The role of Support Manager is to provide a high quality digital administrative and financial service to support their Units Commanding Officer and Reservists. In addition, they support the Head of Establishment (site or Unit) by providing guidance and advise on Health and Safety Environmental Protection (HS&EP) matters.
The responsibilities of the position include:
Delegated management and oversight of two budget areas - tracking expenditure and dealing with pay queries.
Create and progress military performance reports.
Act as point of contact for Reservist queries, site visits (if applicable) and requests for information.
Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships pertinent to the organisation and site including facilities, support for Audits etc.
Produce and review HS&EP management action plans, providing advise and guidance where applicable.
Provide support to wider site initiatives where applicable.
Line Management of a small team.
