An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supported Internship Work Coach to join our King’s Trust team reporting to our Group Head of Department for King’s Trust. This post will involve supporting learners in their work placements across Redcar and the surrounding areas. Our dynamic department delivers courses such as the team and Achieve programme which engage young people who may have some barriers to learning. The Supported Internships delivered by the King’s Trust work with learners with Education, Health and Care Plans and introduce them to the world of work with appropriate support.
As a Supported Internship Work Coach with Etc. you will be responsible for supporting young people in their work placements with a range of job roles. You will Provide individual training and support to the intern at the host business worksite which includes Skills Training, building natural supports, identifying Reasonable Adjustments, assistive technology, etc. You need to communicate effectively with any other staff, co-workers, family members, college and supported employment agency personnel as relates to the intern being trained.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with young people with additional support needs, be a good communicator and able to work independently and with autonomy. They need to be an excellent role model, can motivate others and be able to liaise with placement providers, parents and colleagues to support the intern learners.
The ability to drive and have own transport is essential. Milage will be reimbursed for journeys undertaken as part of the role. We can offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work and develop within a supportive and motivated team committed to continuous improvement.
