An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supported Internship Tutor, based at Redcar and Cleveland College delivered partnership with Redcar and Cleveland Council to join our King’s Trust team reporting to our King’s Trust Head of Department.
As a Supported Internship Tutor with Etc. you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of a transition to work programme for young adults with a learning disability based at Redcar and Cleveland Council.
You will be responsible for delivering an employability curriculum alongside Redcar and Cleveland Council whilst embedding Maths and English and use job coaching techniques to support young people’s development towards employability. You will be able to gain an understanding of the workplace and the roles at Redcar Council and be able to identify the student’s strengths, interests, and abilities related to skill acquisition, job development and employment.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, organised and be able to empower and support young people in a workplace environment. You will work alongside a supported internship work coach to ensure the young people learn and develop their skills in the workplace.
The successful candidate will have previous experience at working with young people who have additional support needs and be able to deliver an employability programme. Experience of working independently and supporting young people through successful work placements would be beneficial. Specific training for this role will be provided and we can offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work and develop within a supportive and motivated team committed to continuous improvement.
