We are looking to hire a Handyperson to work with consultants and contractors to deliver a modern and effective service.
Additionally, contributing to developing and implementing strategies to attract and retain operational staff with practical solutions.
The Role
The key responsibilities of the role are:
· Acting as a trusted assessor, assess and carry out a wide range of minor adaptations and small repairs in a variety of properties across the council portfolio.
· Assist in the design and delivery of non-complex adaptations and improvement works.
· Ensure work is carried out safely, to the required legislation and regulations.
· Keep accurate records and assist colleagues across the service as directed.
The postholder will have to travel across the county and work within varying environments which will include but not limited to confined spaces, working at height and external weather conditions.
What You will Bring:
The ideal candidate will have;
· Experience in the delivery of building /property maintenance & improvements.
· Knowledge of basic building construction materials and techniques.
· A track record of working with the public, particularly people with care and support needs.
· An awareness of the particular housing issues relating to people with care and support
needs.
· Experience in using hand and power tools
