We have an exciting opening to join our Property Team as a Mechanical & Electrical Engineer. The post holder will play a key role in standardising commercial equipment across the county and aligning to the NYC commitment to be net zero strategy.
They will also be required to be up to date on regulatory and statutory changes and to ensure that any upskilling or training that is required is prioritised to reduce impact on operations.
The Role:
We are looking for a candidate who will;
· Undertake repairs and ppm requirements
· Engage with contractors and specialists
· Create reports on the condition of equipment and highlighting where investment may be required.
· Be responsible for supervision and training of apprentices and other employees e.g. labourer or handyperson.
· Post will be required to drive a council issued van, they will need to maximise fuel economy, minimise wear and tear and provide safe regard to other road users.
· Maintain and ensure all tools/ supplied equipment are in good working order with all necessary safety checks undertaken, completing all necessary records.
What you will bring:
Evidence of accredited apprenticeship and proof of relevant retraining to current standard (18th edition).
· An extensive knowledge of electrical systems due to the diverse portfolio and the ability to read schematics.
· Knowledge and experience of Electrical, Heat and Mechanical maintenance.
· Experience in effective planning, organising and prioritising critical works.
· Experience in carrying out site induction accordance with health & safety plans.
· An understanding of building regulations.
· Project working skills – takes responsibility for specific aspects of a project.
· Resilience – Manages pressure effectively and copes well with setbacks.
