We are looking to hire Asset Management Officers to work in our property team to help manage and ensure the safety and quality standards of council buildings are maintained.
The Role
As part of our property team, you’ll be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the assets across North Yorkshire Council, the main responsibilities include;
Basic maintenance such as fire alarm testing, emergency lighting testing and legionella monitoring tasks, as well as checking a range of statutory compliance activity and documentation
Conduct surveys and produces schedules of works for remedial work, maintenance / repair and lifecycle replacement activity.
Complete comprehensive stock condition surveys and maintaining records and documentation relating to physical assets.
Support Contract Supervisors on technical aspects of contract management
Ensure all remedial works are completed to a satisfactory standard and all recommendations are followed through by the site responsible person.
Complete ‘simple’ legionella risk assessments
The postholder will need to travel across the county and work in a range of environments which will include but not limited to confined spaces, working at height and external weather conditions.
What You will Bring:
We work as part of a large team, so it is important that all candidates are able to develop good working relationships within the Property Services Team, providing support and help where possible.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate or have experience in;
Working under pressure to achieve targets and meet deadlines.
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Good numeracy skills, ability to interpret data.
Excellent standard of oral and written communication skills
Managing own time and resources efficiently to ensure best use of time.
Working in a flexible way to ensure the needs of the service are met.
Negotiation skills for managing difficult or complex situations
Ability to write reports
Knowledge of compliance and health and safety
