A quietly spoken, sensitive 68 year old male requires a Personal Assistant. He has a Physical and Neurological disability and lives in the Cumbernauld area.
His interests include chess, dominoes, watching TV and going out for coffee.
This role involves care at home and out in the community, so a full UK driving license is required. The successful Personal Assistant will be able to drive a manual wheelchair accessible vehicle for local outings.
Your role will include assisting with using the bathroom, shaving, oral hygiene and catheter care. Also, preparing meals, clearing up the kitchen and laundry as required. Moving and assisting is involved with pushing a manual wheelchair, using a manual tracking hoist and sara stedy/stand aid. Some administering of medication, collecting of prescriptions and general shopping may be required.
The Personal Assistant should have a warm, friendly nature and take a proactive and innovative approach to support. Good communication skills will encourage him to be involved in activities suited to his needs.
You must be a non-smoker.
Relevant experience is required, and guidance/training will be provided.
Recruiting for 1 position.
The hours of work are approximately 15 hours per month, with a degree of flexibility.
Every second Wednesday during the day, occasional Sundays and evenings. There is flexibility around the hours to suit your schedule.
£13.00 per hour
