Summary
Personal Assistant/social companion required to assist a 30 year old non-binary person with a Neurological Disability, living in the Cumbernauld area. A book lover/Geek required!
You would be required to accompany, provide care and assistance within their home, and in the community including participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
· Accompanying to bookstores, book clubs, historical sites, museums and art galleries, zoos, animal parks etc.
· Preparing meals and healthy snacks
· Walking and general exercise, assisting with participation in these physical activities
· Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living.
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
The most important qualities are a non-judgemental, patient, warm and friendly nature, and a desire to work within a caring role.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Pets in the household – you must be comfortable working with a dog in the home.
LGBT friendly is essential for going to events.
Public transport costs covered.
Non Binary applicant is an advantage
Experience is preferred, but not essential as training will be provided.
Driver with a Full UK Driving Licence preferred and you will be required to use your own vehicle; mileage allowance will be paid.
Recruiting for 1 position.
Guaranteed permanent position of 20 hours per week initially, increasing in time.
Monday to Friday 10:00am – 12:00pm (can be flexible)
Wednesday evening: 6:30pm – 9:30pm - book club
Sunday afternoon: 2:30pm – 9:30pm - day out/book club in evening
£13.00 per hour, may increase in time.
