TheNuclear Medicineservice at Barking, Havering & Redbridge Univeristy Hospitals NHS Trust are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated radiographer to join their friendly team.

The service maintains a primary Nuclear Medicine department at Queens Hospital consisting of 2 SPECT gamma cameras, a 32-slice SPECT CT, an in-house Radiopharmacy and facilities for sample counting and cell labelling.

In addition Queens Hospital provides a radionuclide therapy service that includes I-131 and Ra-223 and there are plans to commence 177Lu therapy through clinical trials. King George Hospital also supports a small Nuclear Medicine service that currently supports the sentinel node work for the breast team.

The departments serve a population of approximately 750,000 people.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of the service including QA, radiopharmacy (training will be provided), therapies and research as well as imaging and radiopharmaceutical administration.

Applicants should have HCPC registration and experience with SPECT CT.

• To carry our Nuclear Medicine investigations on in-patients and outpatients.
• To ensure high standards in all aspects of the administration of radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
• To contribute to the analysis of data from Nuclear Medicine investigations
• To contribute to ensuring compliance with radiation safety legislation
• To work as part of a team in the manufacturing radiopharmacy.
• To train and supervise Band 5 members of staff and trainees.

Our patients are benefitting from ourWomen’s Health Hubin Ilford; anAgeing Well Centrein Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) atBarking Community Hospitaland atSt George’s Health and Wellbeing Hubin Hornchurch.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.
