Staff Nurse – Band 5 - Intensive Care Unit

Full current UK Professional registration and working within a UK NHS Trust is essential when applying. All applicants who do not fit this criteria will not be eligible for shortlisting and be dismissed from the process.

Come and join our progressive, innovative critical care team and benefit from working in a modern critical care unit. We are a busy 12 bedded critical care dealing with a wide variety of patients. As a team we are committed to delivering first class care to our patients and on-going professional development of our staff.

We are currently seeking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated staff to join our proactive team. To apply you will need post registration experience in an acute care setting. Previous ICU experience is desirable but not essential as full training in managing critically ill and high dependency patients will be given.

We would like to welcome you for an informal visit to our Unit. We will facilitate a full tour of the unit and the bed space. After we will introduce you to our brand-new Simulation Suite where we have a high-fidelity Mannequin to provide valuable training our unit staff. We will complete the training with a welcome from the Matron and a presentation from the Practice Development Team about what to expect when working on Critical Care. If you could select which time would best suite you so that we can accommodate your request.

3. Develop an extensive knowledge of critical care nursing.
4. Maintain own clinical and professional development in Nursing and participate in performance review annually.
5. Actively participate as part of the team in developing and providing evidence based best practice.
6. To work within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust Policies.
7. Maintain effective communication and professional relationships, at all times, with patients and their relatives, colleagues and other members of the public.
8. Actively listen to concerns or complaints raised by patients/ relatives /carers and report to the nurse in charge or matron.
9. Maintain confidentiality of patients and their relatives at all times.
10. Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with NMC and Trust policy, protocols and guidelines.
