Millwood School is a well-established, outstanding, and inclusive special school for pupils who have significant additional educational needs.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced administrator to work in a friendly and busy school office alongside our existing hard working and dedicated staff.
The role’s primary responsibilities will be:
- Providing an effective and friendly reception service and first point of contact to parents, pupils, staff, and visitors.
- Administration of the attendance process in school which includes providing detailed attendance information to the senior leadership team.
- Clerking of Education Health and Care Plan meetings as required.
- Clerking of Governing Body meetings
- Supporting with basic financial tasks (e.g. reconciliations, orders, asset management)
- General administrative support in the school office
You will have the following attributes and skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work with pupils, parents/carers, visitors and external agencies in supportive, sensitive and effective manner.
- Able to communicate effectively through written, telephone or face to face contact.
- Be organised and skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Email and student database systems.
- Able to produce high quality documentation and utilise spreadsheets.
- Experience of attending meetings and taking high quality minutes
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, and the ability to adapt quickly
- Extensive experience of administrative duties and the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Be able to demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment, drive and a strong teamwork ethic and be flexible in supporting colleagues and the service during busy times and periods of absence, dealing with enquiries and providing advice.
