We are currently recruiting on behalf of a busy GP practice in Swinton for an experienced Receptionist to provide temporary cover at short notice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior GP reception experience to support a valued local service and hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a busy GP practice in Swinton for an experienced Receptionist to provide temporary cover at short notice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior GP reception experience to support a valued local service and hit the ground running.Greeting patients in a friendly and professional manner
Answering incoming telephone calls and handling patient enquiries
Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments using EMIS
Processing repeat prescriptions and managing patient records
Liaising with clinical staff and assisting with administrative duties
Ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with data protection standards
Supporting the smooth running of the front desk and assisting during busy periods
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience in a GP surgery or similar medical environment is essential
Confident and competent using EMIS software
Able to remain calm and professional under pressure
Friendly and approachable with strong communication skills
Organised and reliable with the ability to adapt quickly
Available at short notice to provide cover during staff absence
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a patient-facing environment and is looking for flexible temporary work within a supportive team.
