Summary

The role of Materiel Support Officer is to lead this upbeat team, engage effectively with Defence partners, support development of clothing projects, and ensure the availability of clothing for personnel through effective requirement forecasting and availability management.

The duties include:

Act as Army Intelligent Customer for Clothing and Uniform, including forecasted, entitled, funded requirements through annual Command Acquisition Support Plan (CASP) forecast submission over a 10-year time horizon, as well as assuring In-Year delivery.
Annually, collate Recruit Allocation Plan (RAP) data and recruit kitting list detail, from Army Recruiting and Initial Training Command (ARITC), the Headquarters LONDIST ceremonial requirement based of deficiencies from the Field Army authorised scale deficiencies, and the Operations and Exercise requirement, based on and known future Operations and Exercises to create the demand signal input for the CASP.
Army Lead-Command Intelligent Customer for all Personal Clothing System – Combat Uniform (PCS-CU) including Combat Footwear for all Front Line Commands (FLCs) including forecasted, entitled, funded requirements through the annual CASP.
Monitor and report monthly on Army consumption for clothing monitoring and recording consumption of PCS-CU Combat Wear including Combat Footwear for all FLCs.
Provide clothing Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to the Military Staff and their Chain of Command across the Army.
Attend the monthly Front-Line Command and Quarterly Clothing Working Group in support of designated outputs, holding DE&S to account for delivery.
Input to and progression of Capability sponsored Statement of User Requirement (SUR), and the drafting and securing financial approval for Business as Usual (BaU) SURs to enable introduction of new to Service items and enable upkeep of current In-Service items.
Produce Fielding Plans for the task issue of new to service clothing items, including the Defence Public Order Pack capability.
Accompany Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff (DACOS) Log Sp to Army Dress Committees as the proponent of Uniform element of the Logistic Defence Lines of Development (Log DLOD).
Encourage and attend both Commodities and Logistic Support Team Building events and fulfil all Line Management responsibilities in accordance with the guidance and timetable.
