Resident Doctor Manager - Transplant, Renal & Urology
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Resident Doctor Manager for the Transplant, Renal & Urology Directorate.
This post is 37.5 hours per week. 08:00-16:00 & 09:00-17:00 on a rotating basis.
The main purpose of the post is to provide high quality administrative and organisational support to the department undergraduate and postgraduate medical education faculty by developing, implementing and maintainingeffectiveprocessesandprocedures.Thisincludescoordinatingthe recruitment, induction and rotations ofalljuniorand middlegrade staff within the Department. You will also be responsible for coordinating all leave for the clinicians and recording any sickness absence.
The post holder will administer and distribute junior doctors’ rotas and training programmeactivities,andwillbeexpectedtogainafull understandingofjunior doctors’ issues in relation to the implementation of European Working Time Directive and training regulations of the Deanery.
The postholderwillbeexpectedtomanagetheirworkloadwithoutsupervision, and be able to manage competing/conflicting demands on their time.
As the Resident Doctor Manager you will often be the first point of contact for all Doctors. It is extremely important that you have the skills and experience required in dealing with their individual queries.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate effective communication skills both written and verbal, use initiative, hold advanced IT skills and be able to work operationally on a busy emergency department floor.
Youwill berequiredtosupportinimplementingandcreatingtherotas,thekey components of this role will be:
• Toensurerobustclinicalrotasviadepartmentalsystemse.g.Medirota.
• Tomaintainadatabaseofandmonitoreducational supervisormeetings
• Tosupportdepartmentalteaching,includingpreparationofrelevant materials before presentations or meetings.
• Tosupportqualitytrainingtargets
• To arrangefacultymeetings,takeanddisseminateminutes
• To ensure that trainees and junior doctors are provided with the appropriateinduction,documentationandprovideadministrativesupport to this process.
