Summary
Job Title: SOUTH INDIAN CHEF
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SOUTH INDIAN CHEF, full-time, permanent position to work for Indian Aroma Cuisine Limited. You will be based at 33 Woodford Avenue, IG2 6UF or new location identified for expansion. We’ll expect you to lead by example and set recipe and process in place to establish this cuisine in our restaurant. Ultimately, you will handle production of food items for all our food service joints.

Roles & Responsibilities:
A South Indian restaurant in London seeks a South Indian Chef for which experience is required. A food hygiene certificate is an advantage but not essential as training is given. Successful candidates will have the duties and responsibilities include overseeing the production of dishes, to prepare, cook and finish foods, to monitor the production of food and ensure consistent quality and presented to the highest standards.
He is responsible for ordering stock and stock taking relevant to his needs in his specialist area to ensure a smooth operation of his section of the kitchen. To maintain high standard of personal presentation and hygiene whilst preparing food and to supervise with the head chef on various chef and sub ordinate development aspects.
Responsible for the preparation of all various south Indian food items such as Sambar (more than 5 varieties), Rasam and vegetable side dishes that form a part of a wholesome traditional south Indian meal (‘Generally known as South Indian Thali’)
He also selects raw materials and ingredients, which are to be used for preparation.
He should be experienced in South Indian All types of food from Curries to bread to tandoori dishes.
Skills and Qualification
• Extensive food knowledge of South Indian Cuisine, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes & actively involve in setting up new menu
• Highly focused, have good communication skills and professional in appearance and presentation.
• Proven experience in handling bulk production & handling a team of junior team members.
Qualification:
• Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management is an asset or Graduates bachelor degree and/or diploma in hotel or other related field.
Experience:
• Minimum 3 to 5 years work experience in a top restaurants or food production centres.
